Sigiriya Ancient Ruins
Lion Platform
Polished wall that originally reflected like a mirror, it was once adorned with inscriptions and graffiti dating back to the 8th century. Today, visitors can see some remaining inscriptions.
Mirror Wall
Located at the base of the rock, it once featured a massive lion statue guarding the entrance to the palace. Only the gigantic lion paws remain today.
Frescoes
The remains of the ancient palace complex that housed the king’s court and living quarters. It consists of various structures, including audience halls, bathing pools, and gardens, showcasing the grandeur of the royal lifestyle.
Royal Palace
These ancient paintings, known as the Sigiriya Maidens, adorn a sheltered rock face on the ascent. They depict beautifully adorned female figures and showcase the artistic skills of the time.
Boulder Garden
Situated at the base of the rock, this area features natural boulders and landscaped gardens, offering a serene setting that blends harmoniously with the surrounding nature.
